Paper Helicopters

With our buddy class we made paper helicopters and here is Zoey standing on top of the table tennis table trailing them.

We made up the puppets from the Life Education booklet and role played different scenarios where friends solved a problem by helping each other.

Tinkertime

Baxter's Dad has been assisting Room 24 on Tuesday afternoons with Tinkertime, where we experiment with Brain Box, an electronics set, We followed the instruction manual and tried to figure out the circuits. We especially enjoyed when the yellow fan lifted off and spun around the room.

Today we came to school dressed in a countries colours or as a sports person. We all looked colourful and interesting. Today was also flag testing day. We recorded great results!

Last week room 24 visited the Life Education Caravan to learn about how to be a good friend. It was an exciting place to visit. We were each given a booklet and a sticker to take home.

To complete our Inquiry about "Insects" we used Eric Carles's painting techniques and then collage to construct a Praying Mantis. They look so real!!!

Antony and an author, illustrator

An author asked us "Where do stories come from?" We replied, the library and the shop. She told us it was our imagination and that we could write our own books. She used puppets to tell a story. She showed us how to make a book and how she started illustrating.
